United in Action
History of UCA
Our family has been involved in mission work for over 30 years with various organizations, but when Hurricane Helene struck Western North Carolina, we found ourselves in an unprecedented situation. On the second day, numerous transfer trucks loaded with supplies were unable to reach the affected mountain areas due to road closures and flooding. Miraculously, amidst power outages and nonfunctional cell towers, we received a phone call from a friend who operated one of these trucks, inquiring if we had space in our warehouse and the ability to transport these goods to where they were needed. We felt it was a divine mission to assist in any way possible and agreed to accept the supplies. Following the initial delivery, news spread that we could store these products, leading to an influx of tractor trailers waiting to be unloaded. As we distributed the goods using small trucks, side-by-sides, four-wheelers, and even helicopters, it became clear that one simple act of obedience had transformed into a significant operation.
